Mezcaletti
Long days + rainy evenings... I’m not busting out any fancy cocktails tonight. I spotted this super simple, build-in-glass drink on Punch and thought I’d give it a go.
It only takes a few ingredients and a few seconds to prepare, but it’s still interesting enough to sit and sip on
ingredients:
1 oz Mezcal
1 oz Amaro Meletti
2 dashes orange bitters
Lemon zest
instructions:
Build in rocks glass over a large cube of ice. Gently stir & garnish with lemon zest.

This might be a funny comparison to some, but I often to think of mezcal similarly to single-malt scotch. If I buy a really nice bottle of either, I’m probably not going to put it in a cocktail. The spirit itself is so complex, layered and crafted with such intention and care that it’s best enjoyed on its own. That doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with cocktails made with expensive mezcal…
